Welcome to Thunderdome, b**ches. This is the fight that distinguishes the men from the boys; who can deliver a strike to the jugular and who can’t; and between who’s weak and who wants to win. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away at the age of 87. And now, Republicans have a shot to truly have an ironclad conservative majority on the Supreme Court for the next generation. This has liberals going apoplectic. But what can they do?
Well, threaten extortion for a start. Yes, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has threatened to impeach Trump for filling this vacancy, which is a constitutional obligation of the president.
The Democrats are going to possibly impeach Trump…for doing his job. As we’ve noted from Trump-Russia collusion to the Ukraine quid pro quo circus, the Left’s reasoning for impeaching Trump keeps getting weaker and wackier. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that liberals should make it clear to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he’s playing with fire regarding this SCOTUS fight. Yeah, I’m sure Mitch is quaking in his boots. Also, who are you again, lady? You’re in the House. This is something for the Senate to take up. You’re not in the Senate, so shut the f**k up.
We’re going to fill this seat. We’re going to have a nominee. And we have the votes. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said it’s a go—and we’re going to get this done before Election Day. The late Justice John Paul Stevens was confirmed in 19 days. Sandra Day O’Connor was confirmed in 33 days. This can be done. And some of those who might be squishy are onboard. Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) back the measure. Only Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) have come out in opposition to it. Maine is weird, so Collins gets a pass, but Murkowski is just a weak sauce RINO who should probably just change parties. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) is hiding on this, which is shocking since he’s been the biggest pain the ass in recent memory. He voted with Democrats to impeach Trump on one of the shoddy articles. He should have been expelled from the party for that; I still think he should. But this is a shot at redemption—and he should be out front on this. Don’t hide, Mitty, though that’s in keeping with your RINO self.
Republicans just need 50 votes to get this done. We have the votes on the committee; it would seem. Let’s do this. Let’s get this done. The GOP Senate is being dashed of a much needed legislative win on COVID relief, thanks to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-NY) colluding to prevent an actual bailout package from getting passed in order to prevent a Trump win so close to Election Day, which would also help out Senate Republicans. So, we have this—and SCOTUS/judges did push a lot of GOP voters into the Trump camp in 2016. Will it jack up the Democratic base? Yeah, but this party is regional and coastal—all places that were not competitive this year. Who cares if more Democrats vote in California, New York, and New England? That was never on our target map and states that aren’t required for the GOP to win the Electoral College, which is the ball game here. This is a great way to get the GOP base excited to vote for Trump and even more motivated in the few weeks we have left in this cycle. Also, if GOP senators running now or in the next cycle want to see their conservative support evaporate—oppose filling this seat. You’ll be branded political morons forever—and rightfully so.
We have the votes, Democrats. You can whine. You can have your rant. And then we’re going to fill the seat. You can decry the unprecedented nature of this, except that it’s not. And then, we’ll fill the seat. The president appoints judges. The Senate confirms them. Trump won the 2016 election. Republicans expanded their majority in the 2018 midterms. We won. You lost. And Ruth Bader Ginsburg didn’t retire during the Obama years. That’s on her. Elections have consequences, kids.
Also, Trump is doing his job. What he’s doing is well within his power. And liberals respond by saying its unprecedented…so let’s abolish the Electoral College and pack the courts. You’re all idiots. Also, please tell us RBG’s wishes about her successor, please. It’s not law. It doesn’t need to be honored. And she has no say in the matter—literally. She’s gone. And we’re going to fill the seat.
Thanks for playing. The libs are about to be owned again.
