Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in Munitions and Ammo Purchased During the Obama Years May Come Back to Haunt Us. Part 1

I was catching up on my news research one evening recently with Fox News on the TV in the background, and as I reacted to the continued rioting in Portland, Seattle, Rochester, and other cities. My memory harkened back to 2013.  2013 marked the start of the Federal Government bureaucracies arming themselves with purchases of military grade hardware and ammo.  At the time, it seemed crazy that Departments with little or no law enforcement authority would need to be armed much less armed with military grade weapons in amounts that actually created a shortage of firearms and ammo available to the public.  My wife interacts with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for her job and we looked at each other in disbelief as if USDA buying submachine guns was satire. But it wasn’t.

In 2015-2016 Homeland Security and the Department of Defense spent $138 million on weapons which I am not excited about, but these agencies do have some law enforcement responsibilities.  In contrast, the IRS, Small Business Administration, USDA, US Fish & Wildlife, Department of Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services all received millions of budget dollars to purchase these munitions along with a new National Training Operations Center in an “undisclosed location” just outside Washington, D.C.,  with no real practical need to possess or operate these weapons ( Oversight Report 2016).  Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of published a pointed article in Forbes in  2017 asking all the obvious questions.  Former United States Senator Tom Coburn (“OK”) was hot on the trail of this concerning story before passing away in 2017.

Returning to my evening news research, I was stopped in my tracks… I asked myself, ”where are all these munitions, who has them, and what are they doing with them or going to do with them?”  Most of you may not remember that former President Obama started Organizing For America in his first term which morphed into Organizing for Action (OFA) before the end of his 2nd term.  OFA was loosely linked to Antifa activity in the early parts of the Trump Administration, while raising upwards of 40 million dollars prior to the end of his second term.  If you are familiar with the former Obama Czar Cass Sunstein and Saul Alinsky’s writings, OFA’s strategy will look very familiar.

On the ground, with more dangerous riots unfolding in the city streets across America, I am getting the impression that more and more of the overly organized rioters are all of sudden heavily armed with military grade weapons.  Should President Trump win the upcoming election, will government bureaucrats show up with these weapons?  Or will it be a progressive private army now armed to the teeth?  President Obama’s own words from a speech in 2008 are chillingly prophetic, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” The rest of his speech is pretty interesting in retrospect considering the orchestrated turmoil that is happening today.

A great deal has happened in the last eight years that few of us would have believed was possible.  With less than fifty days before Election Day, President Trump might want to find out sooner than later where these munitions are and who has control of them.

Stay tuned for Part 2.
